The move in William Hill and Ladbrokes-Coral's share price on the back of this report by MPs goes to show how nervous investors are about betting shop operators in the light of the government's review of gaming machines.

The FOBT All Party Parliamentary Group has been described as "influential" but that may be exaggerating their importance.

The MPs within the APPG, which was only formed in June, have long called for draconian restrictions on gaming machines so it is not exactly a surprise their interim findings have come up with evidence backing their case for just such measures.
