Regal Encore brings curtain down on Scoop6 players

Yala Enki winning leg four of the Scoop6
1 of 1

The next Scoop6, which will include races from Kempton's 32Red King George meeting a week tomorrow, could provide players with a late Christmas present after Saturday's results meant a potential £500,000 will be on offer.

Punters were not able to pay for their presents on Saturday after they were undone by Regal Encore's 20-1 knockout blow in the fifth leg.

Before that, Gino Trail's victory at Haydock meant 9,230 tickets made it through the opening leg, but that was whittled down to 252 after the 8-1 success of Poker School at Ascot.

Unowhatimeanharry and Yala Enki were winning favourites to give some hope, although that was extinguished when Regal Encore struck at Ascot.

“Regal Encore was a showstopper for all the wrong reasons at Ascot but a potential £500,000 Scoop6 could really get the party started on Boxing Day,” said totepool spokesman Andrew Griffiths, who added there were 160 winners of the £159.60 place dividend.

Scoop 6 breakdown

Leg 1 Gino Trail 9,230 (tickets remaining)
Leg 2 Poker School 252
Leg 3 Unowhatimeanharry 186
Leg 4 Yala Enki 48
Leg 5 Regal Encore 0
Leg 6 Brain Power 0
