Red-hot trainers and a headgear pointer - stats to help your Friday punting
There are three afternoon meetings on Friday at Lingfield, Sedgefield and Huntingdon. Here are statistics from those tracks which could help your punting . . .
Lingfield
Mick Appleby has trained seven winners from his last 12 runners.
He has runners in Bahrain on Friday but his best chance of a domestic winner could be Come On Girl (1.10). She has been running consistently, including when third over this course and distance last time.
That effort came under David Probert, who has ridden a winner from just two rides for the trainer this year for a +7.50 profit to a £1 stake, and the pair are reunited in what looks a competitive heat.
Huntingdon
Alan King has a 31 per cent strike-rate when applying cheekpieces to his runners for the first time.
Maid On The Moon (1.00) is fitted with the headgear and put in an encouraging effort over slightly further at this track last time. She is a course-and-distance winner, so the aid could see her return to the winner's enclosure.
Sedgefield
Stuart Crawford is enjoying a purple patch of form as he is operating at a 31 per cent strike-rate.
The trainer has three runners on the card, but the most notable are Bellaney Gem (1.20) and Poppy Rose (3.20), who will be partnered by James Bowen.
The latter is arguably more interesting as just a six-year-old who is unexposed in handicap company after just six starts.
