Aidan O’Brien could still break the world record for Group 1 wins this weekend even if he fails to land the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday.

The Ballydoyle maestro, who needs one top-level victory to surpass Bobby Frankel’s record of 25 winners for the Flat which was achieved in 2003, is well represented in the two Group 1 events at Saint-Cloud on Sunday.

O’Brien is responsible for four of the seven runners in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud, a mile and a quarter contest for two-year-olds, with the Ryan Moore-ridden Delano Roosevelt heading his quartet.

Runner-up to stablemate Saxon Warrior in a Naas Group 2 over a mile last month, the son of Galileo looks sure to relish the step up in trip.

O’Brien’s other runners are Kew Gardens, the mount of Seamie Heffernan, Hunting Horn and Nelson, runner-up to John Gosden’s Racing Post Trophy challenger Roaring Lion in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on his latest start.

Charlie Appleby runs Stage Magic, who will be ridden by William Buick.

O'Brien relies on Dewhurst fourth Threeandfourpence in the Criterium International, a race in which British stables are well represented, with the James Tate-trained Hey Gaman, Fighting Irish (Harry Dunlop) and Ellthea (Karl Burke) all set to line up.
