RCA seeking 'slicker' handling of free racecourse entry

The allocation of complimentary admission badges on British racecourses is set to undergo an overhaul that organisers predict will make the system "slicker, more secure and more consistent", while also providing greater interaction with owners.

From September to the start of next year's turf Flat season at least 50 tracks will begin to implement a revamp of PASS, the privileged access swipe system.

People who receive free access to racecourses – such as owners, trainers, jockeys, bloodstock agents and the press – have been using PASS cards, as well as metal badges, for up to 20 years. However, the Racecourse Association has been seeking to find a better alternative as a result of Weatherbys' decision to withdraw operational support.
