Cue Card's illustrious career earned him a peak RPR of 180, which ranks him among the leading National Hunt horses of the last few years, but what really set him apart was his longevity.

He looked a star in the making when running away with the Cheltenham Champion Bumper in 2010 and by the time of his retirement in 2018 he had been competing at the top level for nine seasons.

He earned RPRs of 170 or better on 14 separate occasions, which compares favourably with the likes of Istabraq (12), Denman (10) and Hurricane Fly (10), albeit leaving him some way behind the legendary Kauto Star (21).
