Racing starts at Chelmsford more than an hour late after track is hit by snow
Sunday's card at Chelmsford got underway more than an hour later than planned after the Essex track was hit by snow.
The first race, which was scheduled to be off at 1.30pm having been put back five minutes due to Newcastle's cancellation, was delayed until 2pm after the track was hit by more snow than was forecast. However, after work to clear the paddock and associated areas took longer than anticipated, racing was further delayed until 2.30pm following an inspection by the stewards.
The opening 7f maiden was won by Mark Johnston's newcomer Vale Of Kent.
