Tiffany bids to end her career on a high at Munich on Saturday when she chases a first top-level success in the Grosser Allianz Preis von Bayern, the final European Group 1 of the year.

The five-year-old is out to go one better than last year when she finished a neck second to Assistent. Her trainer Sir Mark Prescott knows all about the race, having won it with subsequent Arc winner Alpinista.

Tiffany, who is entered in next month's Tattersalls December Mare Sale, has made only one appearance this year, when finishing second in the Group 1 Preis von Europa at Cologne in September.

Prescott said: “She ran very well on her reappearance in Germany last time when returning from nearly a year off. Hopefully that will have brought her on enough to go one better after finishing second last year."

Junko, the 2023 winner, will ensure it is a proper test, as will two high-calibre British-trained three-year-olds in Karl Burke’s Convergent and George Scott's Bay City Roller.

The pair clashed last time in the Group 2 Prix du Conseil de Paris at Longchamp, with Convergent winning and Bay City Roller a close fourth.

Convergent had previously finished second in the German Derby and won a Group 3 at Leopardstown, while Bay City Roller had twice finished runner-up at Group 2 level at Longchamp, including in the Prix Dollar on Arc weekend.

Billy Jackson Stops, racing manager for Bay City Roller’s owners Victorious Forever, said: “It looks as strong a Group 1 as you can imagine, so fair play to Munich for getting such a line-up.

"Bay City Roller goes there in good shape. Adrie de Vries has done well for us this year and is flying back from Dubai for the ride. He knows all about the track and reckons his low draw could be a plus.”

The nine-strong field is completed by Norwegian runner Ami De Vega and four representing the host country, Alleno, Cold Heart, Lazio and Rashford.

The last-named will be ridden by Jack Mitchell, who said: "He put his head down and won nicely at Baden-Baden last time, when be beat a decent filly. Hopefully he can run another good race but it looks super competitive."
