Dan Skelton is set to rewrite British racing history this weekend when becoming the first jumps trainer to shatter the £4 million prize-money barrier in his bid for a coveted breakthrough championship.

He is due to have 15 runners at three tracks spanning England, Scotland and Wales, including the favourite in the £100,000 Listed bumper at Newbury (3.35) and two strong candidates in the feature mares' handicap hurdle (2.10) at Kelso, worth only marginally less.
