At a sun-drenched Del Mar in southern California, where the most storied jockey of our lifetime is set to appear for one final time on the world's biggest stage, get the popcorn ready for another gripping chapter in the tale of Coolmore versus Godolphin.
The global giants have their Breeders' Cup bankers in the very same event. It's the unstoppable force versus the immovable object. It's Minnie versus mighty and something has got to give in a Turf classic.
It says something when a 20-time winner, who is a nine-time winner at the highest level and a two-time winner of this very race, is not even favourite. The multi-million-earning Rebel's Romance is as big as 100-30 with some firms, which is entirely in keeping with his reputation as being the most underappreciated horse in training.
