43 winners in 15 years - and Paul Nicholls is bullish about enhancing that sensational record on Badger Beers day

Dan Skelton and Willie Mullins may have fought for overall supremacy in Britain over the last two seasons, but Wincanton's biggest day of the season is almost always about one man: Paul Nicholls.
Nobody has been more successful on Badger Beers day than the 14-time champion trainer, who is based just nine miles from the track, and once again the region's leading force is well stocked to dominate following a five-timer last year.
Over the last 15 seasons, Nicholls has trained 43 winners – equating to almost a treble a year – at the meeting, and the early betting markets suggest more of the same, with five overnight favourites and three runners expected to go off at odds-on.
