'He's shown flashes of brilliance and the yard's fired in plenty of winners' - James Stevens eyes up the Group action at Sandown

What's the big story?
Classic clues are on show at Sandown in a race which has unearthed Derby hero Adayar, who was second here, and Westover, who went on to Irish Derby glory months after his win in the bet365 Classic Trial.
This year's race (3.35) has all the makings of a very informative trial with Windlord, for the red-hot Andrew Balding stable, already boasting Group-level two-year-old form, and a runner for Aidan O'Brien in Swagman.
They set a good standard for the two debut winners in the line-up, Wathnan Racing's Damysus for the John and Thady Gosden stable and I Am I Said for Ralph Beckett.
What's the bet in the bet365 Mile?
Lead Artist. I quite like this horse's chances in the Lockinge this season and he has shown some flashes of brilliance, including when winning at Goodwood last term and in the Darley Stakes at Newmarket in October.
He is a strong finisher at a mile and the stiff finish at Sandown means it could just be the right place for him. There is a question mark over fitness in what looks a competitive Group 2, but the John and Thady Gosden yard has fired in plenty of winners and won the two Guineas trials at Newmarket last week.
What is happening in the title race?
There are no runners for Willie Mullins after his excellent day at Perth on Wednesday, but Dan Skelton will look to hit back with four of his contenders.
At Perth, Next Left looks to collect £6,337 in the 3m novice handicap chase (2.40) before Coco Mademoiselle lines up in the following 3m handicap chase.
Attention then turns from Scotland to Wales as Skelton's pair Le Fauve and recent winner Doyouknowwhatimean are among four runners in the 2m handicap chase (6.05) at Chepstow.
What's the best bet of the day?
Thunder Wonder in the bet365 Esher Cup Handicap (1.50). The Charlie Johnston yard looks to have found some good form now, partially thanks to this three-year-old's impressive win at Musselburgh last Saturday. He stormed home in impressive fashion and should make a bold bid under his penalty.
