Downpatrick: Arch Empire attempts to give Elliott three in a row

Gordon Elliott has trained the last two winners of the 2m2f rated hurdle (2.47) and has a good chance to make it three in a row with Arch Empire.

The five-year-old got off the mark on his second start for Elliott over hurdles in April, winning over 2m1f at Ballinrobe. After two more runs over hurdles he was switched to the Flat and has been placed on all three starts, most recently finishing third on soft ground over 1m6f at Killarney.

Jack Kennedy is on board for this return to hurdling and the youngest runner in the field carries 4lb less than topweight Redwood Queen.

Haydock: Lorna B steps up in trip in bid to complete hat-trick

Lorna B tackles the 7f fillies’ handicap (5.45), part of the Sky Bet Sunday Series, as the only last-time-out winner in a field of 11.

The Seb Spencer-trained three-year-old is on a hat-trick following victories at Thirsk and Carlisle. She has been raised 3lb for her latest win to a mark of 81 and is stepping up in trip under regular rider Dale Swift.

Spencer said: "She's going the right way. She won easily at Carlisle last time having been in front a long way out. The step up in trip should suit but the ground is a small question mark. I think she's still ahead of her mark and hopefully she can keep winning."

Leicester: double chance for red-hot Burke team in nursery

Karl Burke has a 33 per cent strike-rate with two-year-olds on turf this season and is double-handed in the the 7f nursery (4.00).

Half Sovereign, a 12,000gns purchase, finished fourth on her debut at Redcar before winning well over seven furlongs at Ayr. She was then stepped up in class and made all at Yarmouth. Tom Eaves is on board for the first time here.

Sam James, who has ridden Half Sovereign on all three starts, partners stablemate Boiling Over, who will carry top weight and is one of two runners attempting to break their maiden. The colt has finished a close runner-up twice in four starts, most recently by a short head under James at Doncaster in his first nursery.

Wolverhampton: Owen looking for more gains with recent recruit Zaraquelle

Trainer James Owen has a 33 per cent strike-rate (3-9) in three-year-old handicaps at the track and runs Zaraquelle in the 1m4f handicap (4.07).

This will be the filly’s second start for the yard after moving from Ed Dunlop. She was fourth over hurdles at Uttoxeter last time in her first attempt over jumps.

Owen said: "She's a nice filly. We ran her over hurdles and she was a bit green but stayed well. We're back on the Flat and she's got good all-weather form, so this looks a nice race. The plan is to keep her as a dual-purpose horse going forward."
