Brighton's leading rider bids to strike at track's finale and Cheltenham Festival form is on the line at Galway

Punting pointers for Tuesday's meetings . . .

Brighton: Doughty out to finish on a high

Jack Doughty is the top jockey at Brighton this year with 11 winners and he is back for the season finale, with six rides and some good chances.

Fai Fai was beaten only a nose here last time and returns for the 6f handicap (2.45), while Dinah Myte looks to follow up her recent win at Ffos Las at 4.45.

Doughty also partners Betty Lemon (3.15), Honour Whim (3.45), First Encounter (4.15) and Autumn Festival (5.15).

John Gallagher, who trains two of Doughty's rides, said: "First Encounter has been in and out this season. He had excuses at Beverley last time and it's the first time he's been down to this grade for a little while. He handles the track and I've changed the headgear. If he's on a going day, he should be thereabouts.

"Dinah Myte, who is a half-sister to First Encounter, is in good order after winning well at Ffos Las on heavy ground last time. She doesn't need it that soft and Brighton should suit her down to the ground, so I'd expect a big run."

Galway: Festival form on show

Pertemps Final sixth Will The Wise bids to get off the mark over fences on his third attempt in the 2m2f beginners' chase (4.20).

The Gavin Cromwell-trained six-year-old disappointed when fifth at Cork and was no match for the classy Pied Piper on his last start at Killarney in May.

He is joined in the race by stablemates Bridie's Beau and Crescent Moon, while More Coko looks the pick of Willie Mullins's two runners.

Huntingdon: Casting for a four-timer

The father-daughter duo of Fergal and Fern O'Brien look to make it four wins on the bounce with Casting Aspersions in the 3m1f handicap hurdle (4.37).

The winning sequence started at this track in April, before successes at Ludlow and Market Rasen. The six-year-old has been off the track since that last win in June and has to overcome a 10lb higher mark.

Southwell: Book 2 buy bids to get off the mark

Powerhouses Al Shaqab and Amo Racing are the joint-owners of Watercraft, who they purchased for 240,000gns at last year’s Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. He tries to get off the mark in the 7f maiden (4.57).

Richard Hannon trains the son of Night Of Thunder, who was sent off at 7-2 for his debut at Leicester last month but finished only eighth.

He was slowly away that day and connections will expect an improved performance, although Haaderr may be tough to beat after back-to-back seconds.

Southwell stat: James Tate 40%

The trainer is 4-10 in three-year-old-plus handicaps at the track this year. He runs Alfie D in the 1m6f contest (7.30)
