Swim when you're winning! Pool trips pay off for hat-trick scorer Global
A daily trip to an equine swimming pool in Newmarket has been the making of Global Prospector according to in-form trainer Chris Dwyer after his stable star landed the hat-trick with an impressive victory in the 5½f handicap.
The five-year-old is in love with his aquatic side and backed up wins at Chelmsford and Yarmouth with victory under Harry Burns, who is 3-3 on the son of Scat Daddy. Global Prospector was sent off at 10-1 having drifted markedly from his price of 3-1 in the morning.
Dwyer said: "I take him swimming every day at Andi Brown's swimming pool on Hamilton Road in Newmarket, that's all he's been doing for the last month or so because he has a slight problem with his joint.
"He's a lovely horse and he's the nicest animal you could ever wish to have. I was amazed at the price he went to and Harry gave him a peach of a ride."
The trainer has had three winners from his last six runners and added: "We've only got 14 horses in at the moment so to get 15 winners is unbelievable, absolutely fantastic."
Phillips on fire
Mollie Phillips continued her excellent run of form when notching her sixth winner from her last 14 rides when Under Curfew completed his own hat-trick in the opening 5f handicap.
The five-year-old's success was also the first leg of a double for trainer Tony Carroll, who landed the 5f fillies' maiden with Kensington Agent.
