Furniture tycoon Ed Babington was resting easy after Pocket The Profit landed his fourth straight win at the final meeting of the season at the Norfolk track, but his juvenile may not be putting his feet up just yet.

The 9-4 favourite was given a great ride in the nursery by Ryan Moore from an unfavourable low draw to steer the George Boughey-trained youngster to a fourth win in the space of just 14 days.

Boughey said: "Ed loves his racing and has been a huge supporter of ours. I think every horse he's been involved in this year has won, which includes Flotus who was second in the Cheveley Park."

As for Pocket The Profit, he is entered at Doncaster on Saturday.

Crowley stays in the groove

Jim Crowley took his first mounts since his memorable treble on Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday and carried on where he left off with a double.

The former champion jockey began by partnering newcomer Heat Of The Moment to a debut win in the 6f fillies' novice stakes over the penalised Favourite Child.

The 33-1 chance was a first winner in the Kirsten Rausing colours for trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam, who has just two in training for the Lanwades Stud owner.

Chapple-Hyam said: "Heat Of The Moment has some nice scope for next year and Jim was quite impressed. It's great to have a winner for a prestigious local owner such as Miss Rausing and hopefully this filly will progress from this."

Hotpot obliges

Crowley's second winner came from the other end of the market when 1-40 chance Tarhib landed the 6f novice as her odds suggested.

The starting price of the William Haggas-trained filly was the shortest-priced favourite this century at the track, according to many locals and she breezed through what was no more than a racecourse gallop.

Crowley said: "No disrespect the others, but they weren't quick enough to lead her. I can't remember riding a 1-40 shot before, but I rode a 1-20 chance one day. Thankfully it won."

Shadwell good run goes on

Shadwell, which owns Tarhib, kept its own run of form from Champions Day going with a double, beginning when Shaara came from last to first to head a 1-2 for John and Thady Gosden in the mile fillies' novice.

The 12-1 chance was drawn close to the far rail but ended up coming with a late run up the stand side after missing the break under Dane O'Neill.

He said: "Shaara missed the break but I was able to drop her in, out of the wind and she came home strong."

The runner-up A Cappella, by Frankel, was obviously expected to run well as owner Andrew Lloyd-Webber's racing manager Simon Marsh was paying a rare visit to the track.

He said: "The last time I was here was five years ago when So Mi Dar won the Listed John Musker Stakes. We bought this filly as a foal and she'll be a lovely three-year-old next year."
