'She's on the up' - Oaks could be on the agenda for Save A Forest says Shepherd
Callum Shepherd admitted that connections were excited about the lightly raced Save A Forest following an impressive performance in the 1m2f fillies' handicap.
Making just her fourth start under rules, the daughter of Kingman was forced to make her challenge wide and late under Shepherd but easily reeled in 11-4 joint favourite Invite.
"She's a very relaxed horse and so I didn't want to rush her early in the race," Shepherd said. "I just wanted to warm her into it so I didn't have a lot to do late on.
"She hit the line strongly and will certainly stay a mile and a half."
Gaining black type looks to next on the agenda for Save A Forest, with Shepherd not ruling out a possible tilt at the Cazoo Oaks at Epsom in June.
He added: "She still has the entry in the Oaks and there's a bridge or two to cross before we think about that but that is the calibre of filly we think she is. She's on the up and one to be quite excited about."
Another smart Cox filly
Crazyland advertised herself a filly of considerable potential after a smooth success on her debut under Hector Crouch.
Winning trainer Clive Cox said: "Any first day at school can be tough, especially when you're drawn out wide like she was.
"To get a winner with a nice filly like that this early in the season is quite exciting. If you're thinking about Royal Ascot it's nice to get some experience into them and she likes quick ground being by Kodiac."
