William Humphrey secured a second career victory with a last-to-first ride on the in-form Myseven in the feature 1m4f Betway Handicap for trainers Simon and Ed Crisford.

The 7lb claimer produced the filly under largely hands and heels to snatch the win from the 100-rated Furzig, who was defeated a shade cosily by a neck.

The progressive Myseven struck off a mark of 88 and was registering her fifth victory in six starts.

"She's got me out of a bit of trouble there," Humphrey told Sky Sports Racing. "When she's got daylight she's sprouted wings coming home and she's as game as they come.

"She was rolling for me and it's probably better to just push her out hands and heels rather than unbalance her. I've still got a lot of work to do on my stick and when they're flying like that it's probably the best thing to do."

Zayriyan off the mark

Zayriyan was 0-36 before tackling the second division of the 1m2f handicap but ground out a well-deserved first victory under Hollie Doyle for trainer Ali Stronge.

Doyle mounted her challenge wide on the 15-8 favourite and was always holding Global Style, who was ridden by her partner Tom Marquand and finished two and a quarter lengths back in second.

Running off a career-low mark of 48, Zayriyan was a beaten favourite on three of his last six starts but hinted a first success was imminent when denied a clear run at Chelmsford last time.

Sam Stronge told Sky Sports Racing: "He's run many good races in the past but has always found a way of getting beaten.

"It's fallen into his lap a bit today, but he's done it well. You watch him today and think, 'How has he never won before?'

"He's tricky and doesn't over-exert himself so you can run him every week or two. When I saw Tom upsides Hollie, I thought, 'Who was going to be having the argument on the way home?'"

Sun shines for Cox

Breath Of Sun ran out a comfortable length-and-a-half winner for Clive Cox on his debut in the 6f novice under Liam Keniry.

The three-year-old son of Bated Breath accounted for once-raced pair Mummy Bear and The Hulk, and the outcome never looked in doubt.

Keniry said: "That was lovely, he did it really well and just cantered round. It was a good performance and there's a good bit of improvement to come. Mentally he should take a step forward and he'll be a nice horse for the future."
