Tuesday: Wolverhampton

Rattling put herself in line for a trip to Royal Ascot after showing herself to be completely recovered from an injury that brought her first season to a premature end.

The Richard Hannon-trained filly broke her duck at the third attempt as Pat Dobbs got her home by a short head from the highly rated Archiano in the 6f novice stakes.

Rattling had been earmarked for Royal Ascot last year but plans were scrapped after she sustained a foot injury before she was due to run at Sandown.

"Richard and his team have done a tremendous job nursing her back to full fitness," said Tim Palin, of owners Middleham Park Racing.

"She is very fast and very talented and she did well to beat Archiano. We knew he was decent but we thought the weight allowance would bring the horses close together.

"I'm hopeful that she will be able to pick up some black type. We'd like to go to Royal Ascot with her and there is a five-furlong race for three-year-olds that might be suitable."

Dobbs was also on the mark with Bang On The Bell, who justified trainer John Jenkins' decision to try him at the minimum trip for the first time.

"He's a quick horse and five or six furlongs is fine for him," Jenkins said. "His wins have been on the all-weather but he'll go just as well on the grass. I'd like to find a race at Chester for him as owner Michael Turner is from Anglesey."

Haggas hat-trick

William Haggas is in irresistible form and added another to his tally when Yonafis made it three wins from three runs with a success in the 1m½f handicap.
