Irish trainer John McConnell sent a strong raiding party for the final meeting of the season at Perth and recorded a one-two in the feature £25,000 handicap chase as Go Another One pipped Roi De Dubai.

All four runners were in contention at the last and Go Another One prevailed by a neck from Roi De Dubai, who lost little in defeat after a gutsy front-running display.

Go Another One, who was sixth in last season's Kim Muir, extended his unbeaten course record to three with a strong finish under Sean Bowen.

"We're delighted as they're two great horses for the yard and it's just sad one of them had to lose," said the County Meath trainer.

"Go Another One knows how to win and on his day is a high-class horse, while Roi De Dubai wears his heart on his sleeve and is exciting to look forward to as he's a novice. The two of them might end up at Cheltenham's October meeting."

After running five on the card, McConnell has another three runners, including Roi De Dubai, declared at Perth's final fixture of the year on Thursday.

"I doubt Roi De Dubai will run again as he's had a hard race and Clondaw Hollow (3.05) looks the obvious one as we try to get another winner," he said.

Leader of the pack

Richard Newland enhanced his strike-rate at Perth to 31 per cent (8-26) in the last five seasons when Rebel Leader won the 2m4f handicap chase under Charlie Hammond.

The Worcestershire trainer struck with his only runner of the day and will be looking to do the same again at the track on Thursday with Makka Pakka (3.40).
