Saturday: Lingfield

Ross Coakley continued his unstoppable run of form this year as Chance capped off a successful Saturday for the jockey with victory in the feature handicap at Lingfield.

Stepping up to 1m2f proved no hindrance for the six-year-old, who showed a stylish turn of foot to sweep from last to first to seal a double for Coakley after success earlier with Miss Anaco for Rod Millman in the 5f handicap.

It was a fifth winner from nine rides for the 27-year-old jockey and also bolstered the winning record of trainers Simon and Ed Crisford, who claimed their third success from four runners this year.

"These small-field, high-quality races are always tactically run and you need to have the rub of the green to win, but luckily Chance managed to finish off his race really well," said Simon Crisford.

"The pace was very modest but he showed a good turn of foot up the straight. He's now got six wins from 18 starts and it was a good effort from him in that company, so I'm sure there's more to come.

"We've got runners all over the place right now, including Dubai and Bahrain. It's always nice to keep ourselves active and it's a brilliant start to the year."

Trevolli on top

Trevolli enhanced his impressive record since joining Ivan Furtado after he ran out a ready winner of the 1m4f handicap under Kieran O'Neill.

The four-year-old finished strongly to claim his third success since switching yards in November, and has yet to finish outside the first three in six starts.
