Hunt Cup-winning team combine again on mixed day for jockey Marco Ghiani
Saeed bin Suroor and Marco Ghiani, who combined to win last week's Royal Hunt Cup with Real World, teamed up again to land the mile maiden with odds-on favourite Lubna.
The three-year-old was receiving a sex and age weight allowance from nearest market rival Mr Poy, and readily pulled clear when shaken up to win by eight and a half lengths.
The Godolphin filly gained a first success on her fourth start to complete a satisfactory week for connections.
It was a day of mixed emotions for Ghiani as he was handed a three-day suspension for careless riding in the mile handicap.
The Sardinian rider was adjudged to have caused interference by allowing his mount Dama Bianca to shift left, pushing Daniel Muscutt aboard Rinty Maginty into the rail on the bend.
Both horses were unplaced as 11-4 favourite Almadrina was eased down at the finish by David Egan to win by two lengths for George Boughey.
Welcome success
Little Blue Boy provided Somerset trainer Bill Turner with just his second winner of the season in the feature 7f handicap.
Backed into favouritism, the likeable six-year-old backed up a solid effort in third over course and distance this month to edge out Mamillius by a neck under Luke Morris.
Having won at Ascot last month, the consistent Little Blue Boy has provided Turner with both his victories this season.
Happy days for Walker and Parr
Amateur jockey Simon Walker continued his excellent strike-rate in the 1m4f handicap named in honour of Brighton legend Roy Rocket.
Walker steered home favourite Lady Isobel to give Joseph Parr a second winner in the space of 24 hours, having won on the trainer's Yagood at Wolverhampton on Monday evening.
Walker has now ridden three winners from just seven rides this term.
