'Hollie made all the difference' - children's charity benefits from Doyle magic

A children’s charity was one of the beneficiaries as Hollie Doyle landed a 15-1 treble with victories on Little Edi, Destiny’s Spirit and Falesia Beach.

Doyle’s skills ensured 8-11 favourite Little Edi secured the first prize in the 7f novice stakes as he fended off the persistent Jive King by a short head.

Winning owner Phil Cunningham named the gelding after the Chelmsford-based Little Edi Foundation and has promised all the horse’s earnings will go to the charity which aims to help disadvantaged children.

“Hollie made all the difference, and without her he might well not have won,” said trainer Richard Spencer.

“I’m delighted that he has managed to get his head in front, even more so as the prize-money will be going to the children’s charity.”

Dominic Ffrench Davis was another trainer to praise Doyle after she guided the well-backed Destiny’s Spirit to victory in the 5f nursery.

Available at 7-1 in the morning, the filly was clipped to 11-2 at the off and justified the support as she gamely denied Gumais by a neck.

“Hollie has had a few rides for me before but this is her first winner for us. She has given the horse a great ride and is an excellent jockey,” said Ffrench Davis.

“We fancied our horse today as this didn’t look a good race. She was dropping down to five furlongs but the key to her improvement is the much easier ground. She would have finished much closer at Windsor if the ground had not been so fast.”

Doyle completed the treble when Falesia Beach lost her maiden tag at the 11th attempt in the 7f fillies’ novice stakes.
