Saturday: Lingfield

Hollie Doyle was in razor-sharp form, emphasised by a bold front-running ride aboard Imperial Sands in the feature mile handicap.

After partnering Split Elevens to victory in polar opposite, sit-and-sprint style in the previous 7f handicap, Doyle sent the four-year-old to the front from the gates and kicked off the home bend to secure a comfortable victory.

She said: "I was cautious about it turning into a hack and a sprint, but once I got to the lead I just did what I wanted and Imperial Sands put the race to bed nicely.

"He was gelded and it's just taken a few races to get back. His confidence is good."

It was another notable success for the rider in the Hambleton Racing silks in which she rode her first Group 1 winner when Glen Shiel won the 2020 Champions Sprint.

Night makes all

One Night Stand made it two wins from three starts at the track under Kieran O'Neill for Scott Dixon in the 6f handicap.

The five-year-old, who made all to win, is proving profitable to follow as both of his course victories have now come at starting prices of 7-1.

Party On

Connections of Party On Girl were celebrating when the filly won over course and distance last Saturday, and they returned to the scene to cheer her home again in the mile novice stakes for fillies.

The winner made an even better impression this time, running out a three-and-a-half-length winner under Hayley Turner for George Boughey.
