Saturday: Lingfield

Noble Dynasty, who cost 3,600,000gns as a yearling, continued his progressive form with a third win from four starts this season for Charlie Appleby and William Buick.

Although the £14,000 7f conditions stakes may not have been the sort of feature prize connections had in mind after finishing second to subsequent Listed winner and stablemate Modern News on his debut at Newmarket in June 2020, the four-year-old staked his claim to be a candidate for Meydan when comfortably justifying odds-on favouritism off a rating of 106.

Since being gelded, the son of Dubawi has only suffered defeat once when he finished tenth of 18 in the Golden Mile at Glorious Goodwood.

"He’s getting more confidence," said Buick to Sky Sports Racing. "He’s very adaptable and does everything you want him to."

The jockey, who rode in the Bahrain International Trophy at Sakhir on Friday, could return to the Middle East with Noble Dynasty at Meydan.

"He certainly fits that profile. His rating is obviously a good fit for the races over there and he looks like he’s on an upward curve still."

Prolific Pop dances again

The Tony Carroll-trained Pop Dancer completed a hat-trick in the 5f handicap under Luke Morris. The five-year-old began the trio of successes off a 10lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last month, and followed up a win at Brighton last time.

It completed a 113-1 double for Arc-winning jockey Morris, who had earlier helped Archie Watson’s filly Fifty Year Storm get off the mark in the 6f maiden.
