Amo say Hello to first Group 2 winner in Britain as Loughnane filly strikes

The up-and-coming Amo Racing operation registered their biggest British success to date when Hello You registered her first win on turf in emphatic fashion in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes.

The 7-1 chance settled beautifully off the pace in the near-side group of the nine-runner field before striking for home in the Dip under Rossa Ryan to score at the expense of the George Boughey-trained pair Cachet and Oscula.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit had run well in defeat in similar company through the summer but was gaining some compensation for hitting traffic at Goodwood last time.

The victory also included a 'win and you're in' fees-paid berth into the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on November 5 which successful trainer Dave Loughnane is keen to take up.

He said: "Amo and the team have always thought a lot of Hello You. She arrived from Mr Beckett's [former trainer, Ralph] in great shape and has strengthened up a lot over the past month. We're very lucky to have a horse of her calibre in the yard and I said before she's a Group horse and she deserved a Group win next to her name."

The winner earned a 10-1 quote from Paddy Power for Breeders' Cup but she could return to the Rowley Mile beforehand. The trainer said: "I know Kia [owner, Amo Racing] is very keen to take a crack at the Fillies' Mile and the Breeders' Cup so we'll stick to that."

Forbearance first

The journey from Ireland was made worthwhile for jockey Shane Foley when Forbearance landed the Group 3 Princess Royal Stakes.

Forbearance, the jockey's only ride on the card, finished two and a half lengths clear of the favourite Sayyida for in-form trainer Jessica Harrington, who celebrated her fifth Group success of the month.

"She really enjoys that fast ground and a strongly run race suits her," said Foley. "She's a good stayer and has improved this season. She was off the bridle all the way but that suited her as she managed to pick up well.

"Hopefully she can stay in training next year and I think she's capable of running at a higher level. If she could continue to improve in the same way next season she could be competitive in those types of races. She takes her racing well, is suited by fast ground and she will get further."

Flying Frankie

Frankie Dettori prepared for renewing his association with Saeed bin Suroor in Dubai this winter when steering Soft Whisper to a convincing win in the Listed Rosemary Stakes to kick off a double for the Godolphin trainer.

The famous blue silks were carried by three runners in the mile contest but it was Dettori carrying the first colours who came from off the pace on the 13-2 chance to nail the gallant Maamora.

Soft Whisper, who had a productive spell at the Dubai Carnival this year when landing the UAE 1,000 Guineas, was returning from a spell on the sidelines from an injury she later picked up in the UAE Derby in March.

Bin Suroor said: "She's doing well. The plan was to run her in the second half of the season after her Dubai campaign. She finished her race well and handled the ground better this time."

Of the winning rider, the trainer added: "He's the best jockey in the world. We've worked together for 30 years. He's a great jockey and I'm happy for him."

Dettori, who was completing a double of his own having won the opening 7f maiden on Spinaround, said: "It was nice to get Soft Whisper back to winning ways and I'll look forward to riding her in Dubai in the winter where I plan to return after a successful spell out there last year."

Races like the Balanchine and Cape Verdi Stakes could well be on the daughter of Dubawi's radar at the Carnival, which kicks off in January.
