How serious a contender for the Arc might Nassau winner Winter be?
John Gallagher, trainer Winter is a very serious contender for the Arc as she has done nothing wrong. Ground and trip will not be a problem either as she has won on all types of going and, being by Galileo, the step up in trip will not worry her.
James Knight, Coral odds compiler She would have a live chance. Coolmore have demonstrated with their campaigning of Minding and Found that they are happy to be bold with their fillies and mares. There is a question mark regarding the trip given her dam was a sprinter, but Aidan O’Brien doesn’t have many other obvious Arc contenders and hopefully ‘the lads’ will be tempted to have a crack.
Phillip Makin, jockey I think Enable, Almanzor and Brametot have much stronger claims. Going up to a mile and a half is another big step up for Winter as well.
