Charlie Appleby is poised for a clean sweep at Group level on Saturday at Newmarket with early morning support for his Godolphin runners in the three juvenile Pattern contests.

Hafit, a 2.1 million guineas purchase, has shortened into 6-4 this morning in the Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes (1.45) as the two-year-old steps into Group company for the first time.

Hafit runs alongside stablemate Goldspur in the 1m2f Group 3, facing seven other runners including the Aidan O'Brien-trained Bluegrass and Unconquerable, who was third in the Royal Lodge behind Coroebus, the market leader in the Group 3 Emirates Autumn Stakes (2.20).

However Appleby's Saturday hopes are headed by Native Trail in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes (2.55). The unbeaten colt is odds-on to deliver back-to-back Group 1 successes after winning the National Stakes last time. Juddmonte's supplemented Straight Answer is next in the market at 5-1.
