Proud Martin plots The Two Amigos path after gallant Welsh Grand National second

Somerset trainer Nicky Martin on Sunday reflected with pride at the performance of her pocket stalwart The Two Amigos, who played bridesmaid to Secret Reprieve for the second successive time in Saturday's Coral Welsh Grand National at Chepstow.

The nine-year-old, aiming to give Martin by far her biggest success, served it up to the 18-strong field from the off and gave way only when the 5-2 favourite swept by three fences from home.

Never one to go down without a fight, The Two Amigos stuck to his guns all the way up the straight to finish three lengths adrift of Secret Reprieve, nine lengths closer than when they clashed in the track's trial race last month.
