Time to swap Tier 1 and Tier 3 for Grade 1 and Grade 3, temporarily at least: the high alert areas to worry about today are hotspots of equine excitement.

Whether the new pandemic zones mean you can look forward to spending the next few weeks mixing with friends or just seeing them online, events on the last Saturday of the second lockdown ought to give you plenty to talk about.

That will certainly be the case if the former TV producer, who is currently suffering with a cracked pelvis after being run over by her own lorry, can land the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury with one of just half a dozen horses she trains in the Scottish Borders.
