San Agustin, a course-and-distance winner last time out, looks the logical starting point off just a 3lb higher mark.

Having only his third start over fences, the six-year-old responded to strong pressure in first-time cheekpieces to wear down Clondaw Pretender after the final fence and win by a length and a quarter.

If the headgear works as well a second time, another bold performance seems assured on ground San Agustin will appreciate.

Waikiki Waves and Percussion are also winners last time out. The former managed to reel off a four-timer over fences in 2019 but might still be high in the weights in that particular discipline.

His official hurdles mark is currently 11lb lower than his chase rating, and that latest win came in a Class 5 Lingfield handicap hurdle on heavy ground before Christmas.

Lightly raced seven-year-old Percussion hit the right note when beating Ivilnoble by two and three-quarter lengths on testing ground at Fontwell on Boxing Day. He's been raised only 2lb for that win and seems equally effective on drier terrain.

A couple of Zuckerberg's placed efforts this term give him an excellent chance in this 0-115 contest.

His Sedgefield second to Zen Master has been boosted by the subsequent wins of Bill And Barn, who finish third that day, and the fourth-placed Elixer.

Zuckerberg's Stratford second has also worked out well. The winner Steel Wave scored at Ludlow on Thursday, while third-placed Bretney won at Uttoxeter ahead of finishing a good second in a better race at Doncaster.

What they say

Gary Moore, trainer of Wakiki Waves
He's got every chance. He's got his fair share of weight but it's a lower grade race than he's been competing in recently and it's a track he likes. He's had a good break since his last run over hurdles so goes there fresh and well.

Adam Wedge, rider of Percussion
He won very well at Fontwell on Boxing Day when the ground made it attritional but he stays the trip very well and hopefully he can be on the premises again.

Tom Bellamy, rider of Silent Assistant
The ground went against him at the last minute at Plumpton last time but he still ran creditably on to finish third. He's down in the weights and goes there with an each-way chance.

Tom Lacey, trainer of San Agustin
He won on good to firm there last time and it won't be far off that this time around which will suit him. It looks a deeper race than last time however but he goes there in good nick.

Jennie Candlish, trainer of Zuckerberg
He hated the very heavy ground at Bangor the time before last but ran a much better race on a sounder surface at Huntingdon last time. He's a fun horse who will love this good ground and deserves to get his head in front.
