The Friday morning of the Aintree Grand National meeting is when jockeys and other racing personalities pay their annual visit to the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

It has become firmly established in the calendar, and even Neptune Collonges made an appearance last year.

Patients, families and staff were thrilled to meet and have their picture taken with the 2012 Aintree hero. The expressions on the children’s faces said it all. You never forget moments like those.
