If there is one race at next month's Cheltenham Festival that could do with the emergence of a new contender it is surely the JCB Triumph Hurdle, and three entries for that race line up in the Betfred TV Victor Ludorum Hurdle (1.30).

A former Godolphin recruit on the Flat, Most Celebrated could not have been more impressive on his hurdling debut when bolting up by 25 lengths at Wetherby.

Another inexperienced candidate is Admiral Barratry, who is pitched into what is frequently a hot race by Nick Williams off the back of a promising second place under Lizzie Kelly at Enghein last May.

While not entered in the Triumph Hurdle, Don Bersy certainly has the edge in experience over that pair and has won all his completed starts since joining Tom Symonds from Guy Cherel.

Symonds said: "He has to give 3lb in what looked to be an impressive winner in Most Celebrated. He's done his winning on soft ground, although I'm not sure you can read too much into that. He's been in very good form since Warwick and, while his form hasn't been a surprise based on what he does at home, it would be nice if he could keep on improving."

No Hassle Hoff is likely to be popular in the Grade 2 Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices' Hurdle (3.50), given he is the only unpenalised runner despite having gone down by just a head in the River Don last month.

Dan Skelton's inmate won't have things all his own way, with hat-trick seeking The Worlds End and Theligny, who boasts four wins from five starts this season.

"He's been very progressive for us," said Theligny's trainer Tim Vaughan. "He's in great order and this is another step up in grade but he deserves the chance."

Nigel Twiston-Davies is keen to step Ballyarthur up in trip following his Leicester success over an extended 2m4f.

"He's a great big Kayf Tara and he ought to stay," said Twiston-Davies. "We like him a lot and this is his trial for the Albert Bartlett."
