Tonight's racing: three runners to watch at Wolverhampton
It is the turn of Wolverhampton to fill the all-weather slot this evening with a six-race card, and here are three runners to keep an eye on at the West Midlands track.
Adam Kirby has operated at a 21 per cent strike-rate in February and retains his partnership with Martineo, who he won on in January at this course.
The four-year-old's win came over six furlongs rather than this evening's seven, but he was doing all his best work in the final furlong and could well be up to winning again off a 2lb higher mark.
Swiss Storm
6.30 Wolverhampton
Big things were expected of the son of Frankel when he won his maiden in September 2016, and he turned up in the Dante for his first start as a three-year-old.
However, things did not go to plan at York and have not really picked up since, although he did at least go close in a couple of low grade handicaps last summer for Michael Bell.
Now a five-year-old, he was gelded in the autumn and makes a fascinating first appearance on the all-weather.
Flaming Marvel
7.00 Wolverhampton
The five-year-old's improvement has been steady rather than super, but trainer James Fanshawe will likely be confident Flaming Marvel can follow-up last month's neck win with another victory off a 4lb higher mark.
His January success came over 1m4f here, but today's extra two furlongs should suit given he only got up close to home.
