There is plenty of evening entertainment with 20 races across Britain and Ireland. Action over jumps is staged at Warwick, while Flat racing takes place at Ripon and Gowran Park. Here are three horses to watch out for . . .

Shufoog
6.45 Warwick

Mark Usher’s five-year-old mare made light work of her opening mark of 93 when winning easily at Wincanton 20 days ago.

An 11lb rise followed but she is very much unexposed over hurdles and peaked at an official rating of 78 on the Flat.

If handling the ease in conditions, Shufoog should take all the beating with Richard Johnson on board the bottomweight.

Espere
7.30 Gowran Park

Ger Lyons appears to have found a good opportunity for Espere to maintain her unbeaten record on her second start.

The daughter of Elusive Pimpernel stayed on well for a debut victory at Killarney earlier this month and should be suited by the step up to 1m1½f.

She should have improved for that initial experience and is a deserved favourite in this four-runner fillies’ rated race worth €15,000.

Tenedos9.10 Ripon
There is an intriguing finale at Ripon to wrap up proceedings and the Hugo Palmer-trained Tenedos returns to action after a debut win at Kempton in October.

In a stable tour with the Racing Post, Palmer said the son of High Chaparral had done very well from two to three and the Newmarket trainer hoped Tenedos would be winning a novice under a penalty before a possible crack at the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Tenedos appears to have solid claims although it does look an above-average contest with Department Of War and Loveisili boasting fair form, while Godolphin debutant Beauvais is a nicely-bred son of New Approach.
