Ted Durcan and Jim McGrath give you their views on the weekend action
Are you with or against Palace Pier in the Lockinge?
Ted Durcan, bloodstock agent It is very, very hard to look beyond Palace Pier. He just looks rock-solid and will be very hard to beat. He appears to have everything in his favour so I’m with him.
Jim McGrath, TV pundit You have to be with Palace Pier. He’s only got one blemish on his record and there were excuses for that. He appears to handle most sorts of ground and has got three performances that would win four of the last five Lockinges. He sets a very high standard.
Maddy Playle, RPTV It’s very hard to be against him. He was reportedly only 80 per cent fit for his reappearance but still managed to record a Racing Post Rating of 126, just 1lb below his best. Lord Glitters looks a shade overpriced after running right up to his best in Dubai. He should be a similar price to Century Dream and Safe Voyage, and he has race fitness over them.
