The latest going news and market movers as jumpers take centre stage at Galway
We are fast approaching the time of year where the Flat protagonists pass the baton to their jumping counterparts and today sees the return of several classy jumping prospects at Galway.
The 2m3f maiden hurdle (2.05) could be won by a smart one as Alan Fleming's Bakmaj and the Willie Mullins pair of Diamond Hill and Sancta Simona have both shown form good enough to win an event of this nature.
The admirably versatile Rashaan returns to the scene of his Grade 3 novice chase victory in the 2m61/2f Ryans Cleaning Chase (3.45) and the 2m2f beginners chase could be worth noting as well (4.15).
Gigginstown are represented by fencing debutants Dis Donc and Mind's Eye and the latter served up a career-best performance when fourth in the Grade 1 Top Novices' Hurdle at the Aintree festival on his last start.
Flat fans have plenty to keep them happy with all four British meetings staged on the Flat. Afternoon action at Brighton, Leicester and Catterick precedes evening racing under the lights on the all-weather at Newcastle.
