This year's Greenham Stakes will mark ten years since the exceptional Frankel kicked off his triumphant three-year-old season with an easy success at Newbury.

That Group 3 success was a mere stepping stone for the rest of his imperious career but it gave him the key preparation required to produce one of the most memorable Classic wins of all time in the 2,000 Guineas just a month later.

Unsurprisingly, no horse in ten years has quite reached the same level as the great Frankel but interestingly he is the last Greenham winner to follow up in the 2,000 Guineas.
