Solar bids to reach new Heights for optimistic Tate

James Tate believes he has found €85,000 filly Solar Heights a good opportunity to get off the mark in the Like Sun Racing On Facebook Maiden Stakes (3.10) at Wolverhampton.

The Saeed Manana-owned three-year-old finished sixth over 7f on her debut at Kempton earlier this month and her trainer believes the step up to 1m½f could suit her running style.

"We were a little bit disappointed with her first run," said Tate. "She was working well at home but ran green and had a good look at everything.

"We are anticipating an improved effort in what looks an ordinary race. She has the speed for seven furlongs, but the way she wants to race – having a good look before putting her best foot forward – suggests a mile could help her."

Bolger could extend fine run of form

Jim Bolger has made a great start to 2019 with three winners from his six runners on the all-weather at Dundalk, including a double at the course earlier this month.

The trainer sends three runners to the track, including Theobald, who bids to follow up in the valuable Windsor Bar & Restaurant Handicap (6.00) under Kevin Manning.

Theobald, who ran in both the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Irish Derby last season, faces six rivals including the Joseph O'Brien-trained Ming, who finished fifth in the Qatar Derby in Doha last December.
