Straight out with it: who wins the Stewards' Cup?
Scott McCullagh, jockey I've picked up a good ride in Soldier's Minute for Keith Dalgleish and hopefully he can run a big race. He won well at York three starts ago, subsequently lost his way a little in two runs, but could bounce back here and has a nice draw in stall 20. Of the others, Khaadem must be a major player. He ran well in a Group 3 last time out and appears progressive, while Justanotherbottle has solid claims.
Keith Melrose, betting editor Give me one solid place option and one haymaker. Gunmetal did well to finish sixth in the Wokingham considering he was seemingly on the unfavoured side – he 'won' his group. He is a speedy 6f type who can cope with 5f, which is a bonus here. Have a look at True Mason, too. He has been campaigned above himself, you can forgive both runs this year and he's had a wind op. I'd be willing to chance him proving better than a mark of 100.
James Millman, RTV pundit I like the look of Air Raid from stall 12. I was impressed by him at the start of last year and he didn't really progress through the season, but this campaign he has really found his form, most recently winning the Scottish Stewards' Cup at Hamilton. Jedd O'Keeffe is a really good, underrated trainer and Air Raid can go well in an open renewal at a nice each-way price.
