Nicky Henderson, who last won this with the Richard Dunwoody-ridden Flown in 1993, fields two runners including the classy Different Gravey, who is back over hurdles after disappointing over fences before Christmas.

Last year's winner Lil Rockerfeller is a non-runner, but Third Intention, who scored in this in 2012 lines up for Colin Tizzard.

Old guard

Third Intention is the senior runner but the last ten-year-old to win the race was Champion Hurdle winner Comedy Of Errors 40 years ago.

What they say

Gary Moore, trainer of Camping Ground
It's his first start for us and he's a nice horse to have but he can't possibly win with his penalty. This is very much a stepping stone - he has some Cheltenham entries and this will tell us whether it warrants us going there or not.

Dan Skelton, trainer of Shelford
He did really well for us in France last year but as a result he has a penalty in this which puts him wrong at the weights. On the plus side, he should like the track and the ground will be fine for him.

Sam Twiston-Davies, rider of Adrien Du Pont
He's a smashing prospect for novice chases next season and this looks a nice race for him at this stage of his career. He deals with all types of ground and the trip should suit him well.

Nicky Henderson, trainer of Different Gravey
He disappointed last time over fences before Christmas and we thought we'd give him a spin back over hurdles to regroup. He should like the track and he should be very competitive off his rating.

Anthony Bromley, racing manager to Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, owners of L'Ami Serge
We're hopeful rather than confident as things haven't gone quite to plan up to now but he's in good shape and this will tell us whether we stick over hurdles or take on Douvan in the Champion Chase.

Nick Williams, trainer of Le Rocher
He's a bit to do on the figures but we think he's going to run a big race. The penalised runners always struggle in these types of races and they'll have to be quite tasty to give the weight away to him. We are going there with a big shout.

Colin Tizzard, trainer of Third Intention
We thought we'd try something different rather than send him over those big fences again. He's a Flat bred horse and he's won it before, so why not?
