Racing Pulse 'could be well handicapped' on debut for Mullins

Total Recall trounced his rivals in the Munster National on his first start for Willie Mullins last month and Ireland's champion trainer seeks another National win here with Racing Pulse, who will be representing his Closutton yard for the first time.

Winner of a point-to-point and a bumper for Mick Winters before scoring over hurdles and fences in Britain, Ruby Walsh's mount has dropped down the ratings.

Mullins' son Patrick said on Saturday: "Racing Pulse was bought with a view to running in valuable staying handicaps. He's been schooling and working well.

"You'd imagine he'll improve for the run but he's got a low weight and could be well handicapped based on his old form."

A Sizing Network on the up

A Sizing Network took a long time to get off the mark over fences but has got the hang of things in recent outings and goes into the race on a hat-trick.

Raised 10lb for an easy win at Punchestown on his most recent start, the seven-year-old is considered possible Grand National material by trainer Jessica Harrington.

"A Sizing Network is much improved and is a super jumper," she said. "I'd love to get him high enough in the ratings to run in the Grand National, either next year or in 2019.

"He's going up in trip but he seems to stay well and he's in good form."

Raz De Maree is a dual winner of this contest, scoring in 2012 and 2016, while another previous winner in the line-up is Tulsa Jack, who was successful in 2015.

Tulsa Jack has not won since July 2016 and is one of three runners for Noel Meade, who said: "Tulsa Jack is in very good form and if the ground doesn't come up very testing I think he'll run a very good race."

Wounded Warrior's form tapered off badly last season, but he's been doing everything right since he came back from his summer break. He's ready to start off and we're happy with him. He's 7lb higher than he was when he won the race last year, so we're claiming 7lb to try and counteract that. He's in good form and we're hopeful he might get a share of the money.
