Plumpton specialist has first venture in veterans' company and recent winners return at Dundalk - Tuesday's punting pointers

Punting pointers from Tuesday's meetings. . .
Dundalk: Friday winners bid to follow up
Nicola Burns helped Movin And Groovin get off the mark at tenth attempt at Dundalk on Friday and the pair return to the same track to contest the mile handicap (3.30).
The Ado McGuinness-trained filly's victory came in a 6f apprentice handicap, for which she carries a 7lb penalty, but she's gone close over this longer trip before.
Burns also rides Movin And Groovin's stablemate Beauty Bella later on the card in the first division of the 1m2½f handicap (5.00), in which she will take on another of last Friday's course winners in Storm Eric.
That was Storm Eric's first win over a mile, and the son of Estidhkaar has yet to score over further than that trip for trainer and owner-breeder Jamie Flynn.
Just as he did four days ago, Cousin Shay bids to win the second division (5.30) of a Dundalk handicap won by Storm Eric. The Natalia Lupini-trained six-year-old has won two of his last three starts at this track.
Newcastle stat: course specialist
William Dewhirst has won three of his four starts over seven furlongs at Newcastle and bids to enhance that 75 per cent strike-rate here (4.13).
Newcastle: New Year's Day winner back for more
Ethan Tindall trebled the number of his career wins with two victories from seven rides in the last two weeks, the latest coming on Show Me Show Me at Newcastle on New Year's Day.
Show Me Show Me has been upped 3lb for that short-head success over King Of The Jungle but receives weight from all five of his rivals in the 5f handicap (4.45) as he attempts to record back-to-back wins over course and distance.
Cast No Shadow, Water Of Leith and Darlo Pride have also got winning form at this track and trip, while Above is rated 8lb lower than his last winning mark and showed signs that he is not far away when finishing a decent second at Kempton last Wednesday.
Tindall also partners Fahey's six-race maiden, Tantomile, in the 6f handicap (6.45).
Plumpton: On-song Poet enters veterans' ranks
Northern Poet brings strong course form to the table as he competes in a veterans' chase for the first time.
Having just turned ten, the Nick Gifford-trained chaser now qualifies for this company and lines up against the likes of Credo and Supervisor in the 3m1½f handicap (3.10).
With form figures of 231122 at Plumpton, Northern Poet has a proven liking of the track, as he again showed when chasing home the ultra-progressive Lady Balko on last month's comeback.
Before that, he was second over the course and distance in May behind Copperhead, who has boosted the form multiple times since.
"It's a perfectly framed race for him," said Gifford. "He loves Plumpton, but the ground is the caveat as it's going to be tacky.
"He ran well first time out this season on soft, but he's a good-ground horse. If it was good ground, I'd fancy the pants off him."
Southwell: Crouch and Owen combine again
Hector Crouch's chances of a first all-weather jockeys' title have been helped by the increased support of James Owen in recent weeks.
Crouch has ridden nine winners from 24 mounts (38 per cent strike-rate) for Owen, including at Wolverhampton on Monday and Tuesday last week.
High Court Judge, who was the first of those winners, bids to follow up in the opening division of the 1m3f classified contest (2.22) at Southwell.
Crouch also rides Kinetic, who has been well beaten in juvenile hurdle races on her last two starts, in the 1m3f fillies' handicap (12.22).
Southwell stat: blistering Burke
Two of Karl Burke's three runners at Southwell this year have won (67 per cent strike-rate). Nala The Lioness (12.22), runner-up over course and distance last time, is the pick of his three runners on the card.
