Pairofbrowneyes bidding to put a smile back on Fogarty's face
2.10 Limerick
Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase | 5yo+ | 2m3f120y | ATR
If right was right and the world was a fair place, Pairofbrowneyes would be picking up this pot for the second year in a row for Mikey Fogarty.
The consistent seven-year-old has been placed on four of his last five outings and was cruelly denied in the final stride by Un Beau Roman in a handicap chase at Cheltenham's Open meeting on his most recent outing.
As for the popular Fogarty, he was all set to win the 2m1f handicap chase at Leopardstown on December 26 only for Powersbomb to knuckle on landing after the last when holding a lead of a few lengths. It was rough luck, but maybe Pairofbrowneyes can put a smile back on his face.
Gigginstown House Stud won the race in 2013 with Make A Track and the maroon and white silks will be carried by Killer Crow and Just Cause.
16-1 is the price
Three of the last four winners of this have had an SP of 16-1 – Jack Absolute (2012), Make A Track (2013) and Page Turner (2014).
What they say
Henry de Bromhead, trainer of Domesday Book
He has top weight in a very competitive race, but Dylan Robinson takes off a valuable 7lb and he had some very good form as a novice last season.
Noel Meade, trainer of Texas Jack
He's been a grand servant over the years and owes us nothing. He seems in good form.
Gordon Elliott, trainer of Killer Crow
I've long thought there was a big handicap in him but he's let us down on a few occasions. He has some good form in the book, so it wouldn't come as a great surprise if he ran well here. He's in good form.
Mouse Morris, trainer of Just Cause
He's only a novice but has some good form and was second to Lieutenant Colonel at Gowran Park earlier in the season. He's in good order, so fingers crossed he'll make his presence felt.
