One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Saturday

ONE TRAINER
Francis-Henri Graffard

French trainers had a field day at Lingfield's All-Weather Championships Finals day, and now Francis Henri-Graffard is attempting a more northerly raid on the Knavesmire.

Do Re Mi Fa Sol will be a first runner for Graffard at the track, as the five-year-old lines up in the Group 3 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Bronte Cup Fillies' Stakes (3.05).

Runner-up in a Listed race at Longchamp last time, Do Re Mi Fa Sol could be capable of better, and she might be returning to these shores next month as she also holds an entry for the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot.

ONE JOCKEY
Ronan Whelan

When Mick Channon has runners in Ireland he has turned to Ronan Whelan for assistance in the saddle.

The rider has one winner from eight rides for the trainer and has also been placed four times. Opal Tiara is among the horses he has ridden before for Channon and the pair are reunited in the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh (4.45)

Last year the duo finished second in the same race, and Opal Tiara enjoys her trips aboard, having picked up plenty of prize-money with three solid efforts at Meydan in the winter.

ONE HORSE
Take Cover

Battaash is the headline draw in the Group 2 Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes (4.00), but Haydock's feature also marks the seasonal return of another popular sprinter.

He may now be 11 but Take Cover was showing no signs of slowing down last year, winning four of his eight races, all at Pattern level.

Seventh in this race for his seasonal return 12 months ago, Take Cover will ensure a blazing tempo, and he does like the track, with two wins from four previous starts.

ONE RACE
Irish 2,000 Guineas

The first Classic of the season in Ireland, the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas (4.10) features a very strong favourite, but he is not trained by Aidan O'Brien.

Elarqam, fourth behind Saxon Warrior in the Newmarket equivalent, was given a glowing report by connections at the start of the week and that has led to sustained support for Mark Johnston's runner.

O'Brien is unlikely to go quietly, as he bids to win the race for a 12th time, and he relies on US Navy Flag and Gustav Klimt.

Zihba, unbeaten in three starts, and purchased by Al Shaqab Racing this week, adds further intrigue. Historically it pays to concentrate on those at the head of the market, with five winning favourites since 2008, and the biggest winning SP in the same period is 5-1.
