One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Friday
Trainer
Warren Greatrex unleashes rising star Emitom in the Doom Bar Sefton Novices' Hurdle (4.40), in which he will face Ballymore runner-up Champ among a strong field of 13.
The Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer also saddles other interesting prospects in the form of Theatre Territory and Keeper Hill in Grade 3 handicap hurdle and chase contests respectively. Greatrex saddled a winner at last year's meeting with the smart Portrush Ted in the Grade 2 bumper and has great prospects again.
Jockey
Nico de Boinville enjoyed a fantastic Cheltenham courtesy of wins on Altior, William Henry and Pentland Hills and is set for another top-class book of rides here.
Precious Cargo (2.20) takes the step up to Grade 1 level but has impressed in his two hurdle starts, and De Boinville also rides Mr Whipped in the Mildmay Novices' Chase (2.50) and the admirable OO Seven in the Topham Chase (4.05).
Horse
Lostintranslation finished an honourable second to Defi Du Seuil in the JLT Novices' Chase at Cheltenham and takes the step up in trip he seems to have been crying out for.
RSA winner Topofthegame will be a tough nut to crack but Lostintranslation's form over fences reads especially well and trainer Colin Tizzard has described the imposing seven-year-old as a potential Gold Cup horse for next season. Lostintranslation looks to be a straightforward type and the return to a flat track should pose no problems.
Race
The JLT Chase (3.25), more commonly referred to as the Melling Chase, looks a thrilling contest with five Grade 1 winners in the seven-strong field.
Last year's winner Politologue clashes with Waiting Patiently, who beat him in the Ascot Chase won by Cyrname in February, and triple Grade 1 hero Min, who will bid to go one better than last year.
The diminutive Top Notch represents Nicky Henderson, while 2016 winner God's Own returns after pulling up in the Champion Chase last month. Hell's Kitchen, fourth that day, and Woodland Opera complete the line-up.
