Alnadam
1.50 Sandown
My Oddsboost On Betfair Novices' Limited Handicap Chase, 2m4f

This Dan Skelton-trained seven-year-old made an encouraging chase debut when second at Carlisle on his reappearance.

Alnadam was a dual winner over hurdles last season and should have more to offer over fences this term. He has solid each-way claims in a wide-open renewal to kickstart ITV4's coverage.

The Big Breakaway
2.05 Exeter

Last season's Ballymore Novices' Hurdle fourth was a convincing ten-length winner on his chase debut at Cheltenham last month.

He has the potential to rise to the top over fences and ratings suggest this four-runner event should prove a formality.

Friday cards

The Big Breakaway has to cope with a drop back in trip, but is long odds-on to score before some likely bigger targets.

Star Gate
2.25 Sandown
Ballymore Winter Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m4f

Star Gate was an impressive winner on his stable debut at Chepstow in October and heads the betting for this Grade 2 contest.

This is a big step up in grade, but the £140,000 purchase looks potentially very smart and is partnered by Nico de Boinville, who has a 31 per cent strike-rate at Sandown in the last five seasons.

Quick Wave
2.40 Exeter

Quick Wave ended last season in good form when winning nicely at Leicester and finishing second at Exeter for Venetia Williams, and she is prominent in the betting for her seasonal reappearance.

The seven-year-old drops back down in trip under in-form jockey Robbie Dunne and is worth consideration in this competitive contest.

Illegal Model
3.00 Sandown
Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle, 2m7½f

Illegal Model was third on his seasonal reappearance for Charlie Longsdon, finishing two and a quarter lengths behind the winner. He will be making only his third start but boasts solid claims in a race that has had surprisingly little impact in the final of the series at Cheltenham, with just three of the last ten winners even running (finished PP0).

Dawson City
3.15 Exeter
Close Brothers Handicap Chase, 3m6½f

Dawson City won over this course and distance in February 2019 and has good form over extreme trips, including when fifth in the Midlands National behind Welsh National winner Potters Corner.

The 11-year-old will be ridden by Rex Dingle, who takes off 3lb, and is one of the better-fancied runners alongside Bermeo and Lithic.

Emmpressive Lady
3.35 Sandown

Emmpressive Lady is the likely favourite for this contest after her success at Exeter last month.

The Sue Gardner-trained five-year-old is stepping up in trip, but won readily last time.
