One horse, one jockey, one race and one trainer to watch on Tuesday
One horse
It can be a tall order for a racehorse to emulate the achievements of illustrious parents, but Battleground stepped up to the plate when winning at Royal Ascot.
His dam, Found, needs little introduction as an Arc and Breeders' Cup winner, but she's proving quite the broodmare too. Her son takes another step up the ladder in the Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes (2.15) in a bid to prove himself a star, and it will be fascinating to see how he copes with the track and some equally unexposed rivals.
One jockey
An obvious selection, but Frankie Dettori, fresh from his historic King George triumph on Enable, could be on the verge of breaking another record in the Group 1 Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup (3.15).
With his long-time partner Stradivarius, Dettori has another chance to showcase his immense skills, and the pair will create history if they win the race for an unprecedented fourth time. Dettori is also booked to ride King Zain in the Vintage Stakes and D'Bai in the Lennox Stakes.
One race
The Group 2 Qatar Lennox Stakes (2.45) has attracted a field of 13 and, with several multiple Group winners lining up, it has the makings of an exciting race.
Sir Dancealot is back to try and win a third consecutive Lennox, while Duke Of Hazzard won two Group races at the track last season. Add in the likes of Pierre Lapin, Safe Voyage and Glorious Journey, and you have a belter of a race.
One trainer
Tom Dascombe has shown himself to be more than capable with Group-class horses, and he may just have unearthed another in Devious Company, who lines up in the Vintage Stakes (2.15).
Second in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket, the Fast Company colt kept on well then and only found Master Of The Seas, ante-post favourite for next year's 2,000 Guineas, too good.
