Oisin Murphy will return to the saddle this afternoon after missing his final three rides at Yarmouth on Friday with toothache to partner the well-backed Kings Lynn in the Achilles Stakes at Haydock.

The champion jockey confirmed he would "battle on" despite still in pain and has an excellent book of rides at Haydock, including Kings Lynn who has supported into 4-1 (from 6) with most firms.

Murphy also takes the ride on Oriental Mystique in the Betway Pinnacle Stakes (2.55) following the four-year-old's good run at Goodwood behind Alpinista last time.

She is the 2-1 favourite for the Group 3 prize ahead of the Roger Varian-trained Cabaletta at 5-2.

The ground at Haydock is good to soft, soft in places ahead of a seven-race card featuring another Group 3 contest – the Betway John Of Gaunt Stakes (3.30).

2.20 Kings Lynn 4-1 (from 5)
2.55 Salsada 11-2 (from 6)
3.30 River Nymph 6-1 (from 7)

3.45 Queens Sargent 6-1 (from 9-1)

Chester

2.40 Broadman 9-4 (from 100-30)

Toro Strike is the 9-4 market leader, ahead of the eight-year-old Safe Voyage at 9-2. River Nymph, who won the Victoria Cup at Ascot last time, has been clipped into 6-1 after some morning support.

Elsewhere, all eyes will be on Robert Tart as he makes his return to race riding four years after quitting the saddle due to depression.

The 28-year-old rides Uber Cool for Jane Chapple-Hyam in the 1m5½f Mental Health UK Handicap at Chester (3.50).

Perhaps the best-backed horse of the morning runs at Chester, where Ejtilaab has been punted into 9-4 favouritism for the 7½f handicap having been 4-1 earlier this morning.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: "It's tight at the top of the market between Boardman and Ejtilaab and the latter is currently the best-backed horse that will be shown on ITV this afternoon.

"He put in a decent effort from a poor draw over course and distance last time and punters clearly believe that berth one will see him go mighty close on the Roodee today."
