Missy Tata faces tough competition in four-timer bid

Missy Tata comes into this Grade 3 seeking a fourth-timer over hurdles in what looks a competitive renewal of this event despite a field of only four runners.

The Gordon Elliott-trained filly won a three runner race at Limerick on her reappearance last month and speaking yesterday, her trainer said: "She's in good form and should have come on from her first run of the season. More rain would be welcome as she likes plenty of cut."

Similar sentiments were expressed by Joe Murphy, trainer of Swamp Fox who reverts to hurdles following two good efforts in Flat handicaps – included finishing third in the Irish Cesarewitch.

Murphy said: "He's in good form but rain would be welcome. He was very good at Listowel in September when he won the Lartigue Handicap Hurdle by 11 lengths and this race will tell us whether we go back handicapping or continue in conditions races.

"It looks a very good renewal and no matter which of the four wins it won't be a shock result as there isn't much between them on ratings."

Willie Mullins is represented by Koshari, who won a novice hurdle over the trip at the Punchestown festival in April on his first start for Ireland's champion trainer, while Slowmotion, who trounced the useful Rashaan in a Grade 2 event at Fairyhouse last season, represents Joseph O'Brien on her first start of the campaign.

"She summered really well and we're excited to get her started. She's in very good form and we're hoping for a good run although she should come on for the outing, "O'Brien said.
